Riptide and Jersey Mike’s providing lunch for nursing home staff

The New York Riptide, Long Island’s professional box lacrosse team, has partnered with Jersey Mike’s Subs to provide lunch to workers at dozens of area senior rehabilitation, nursing and care centers.

Beginning this week, the Riptide and Jersey Mike’s are dropping off lunch at 15 long-term care facilities per week for the next four weeks. The sub sandwiches will feed about 800 staff members at different facilities each week across Long Island.

On Wednesday, Riptide mascot Eddy and Jersey Mike’s franchise owner Mitch Cohen delivered lunch to the staff at Sunrise of Dix Hills in Dix Hills, The Arbors Assisted Living Community at Islandia West in Islandia and The Bristal Assisted Living in East Northport.

Jersey Mike’s franchise owners across the country have been seeking out those in need and donating millions of subs to local hospitals, first responders, children in need of a meal, senior citizens and more.
