Family & Children’s Association announces SNUG Day 2025

Family & Children’s Association will present SNUG Day 2025, a family-friendly community celebration on Saturday, August 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Kennedy Memorial Park, located at 335 Greenwich St in Hempstead.

The event is free and open to the public and will feature interactive activities for all ages, giveaways, music, and access to information on services that support families, youth development, and public safety.

“SNUG Day is more than just a celebration — it’s a powerful reminder that community connection is key to building safer, stronger neighborhoods,” said Jeffrey Reynolds, president and CEO of Family & Children’s Association. “Events like SNUG Day allow us to bring those services directly into the community, connect face-to-face, and reinforce that none of us are alone in this work. Together, we can break cycles of violence and create a brighter future for our kids.”

SNUG, which stands for Should Not Use Guns, is a program focused on reducing violence and promoting safer communities by engaging local faith leaders and influential community figures as messengers of non-violence.

A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, August 16.
