People’s Arc of Suffolk to host inaugural service expo at Bohemia HQ

The first-ever People’s Arc Service Expo, a free, family-friendly event showcasing the wide range of support services available to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families is slated for later this month.

The nonprofit’s event will take place on Wednesday, July 30, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the organization’s headquarters, located at 2900 Veterans Memorial Highway in Bohemia.

“The People’s Arc Service Expo is a celebration of the work we do every day to empower people to live their best lives,” said John McGuigan, CEO of People’s Arc of Suffolk. “It’s also a great way for families, professionals, and community members to explore the resources we offer and get to know the people behind the programs.”

The expo will feature interactive activities, including exhibits and demonstrations that feature the Metropolitan Golf Association’s Adaptive Golf Program, service showcases, games, raffles, live music, food, and career opportunity information. More than a dozen programs will be on display, providing attendees with opportunities to meet staff, ask questions, and learn about services offered by People’s Arc ranging from family support and residential living to employment readiness and day programs.
