Ocean Financial FCU donates $7,500 To Long Island Children’s Museum

Long Island faith-based financial nonprofit Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union (OFFCU) presented a check for $7,500 to the Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City on Tuesday, August 4, as part of a larger, collaborative campaign to support local nonprofits across the region.

The donation is one of several that have been made as part of $50,000 in funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York’s (FHLBNY) Small Business Recovery Grant Program, which Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union has distributed to nonprofit and faith-based organizations providing a wide range of programs.

“These grants reflect our ongoing mission to strengthen the communities we serve,” said Joseph Tedesco, president and CEO of Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union. “It’s not only great to support a local organization but also support organizations that our own employees are already familiar with.”

This is the second year in a row that OFFCU has made the donations.

“What this helps support is making the museum is accessible to anyone who wants to come here,” said Erika Floeska, president and CEO of Long Island Children’s Museum. “Whether that’s families with kids with disabilities, low-income families, military families, or others, we have all these avenues for everyone to come to the museum, and this check will help keep that going.”

The 2026 grant recipients are:
