Cumberland Farms raising funds to fight cancer

Cumberland Farms is asking its customers to donate money at its Long Island stores this month to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Now through March 31st, Cumberland Farms customers will have the opportunity to donate any amount of their choosing at the register to help fuel the fight against cancer.

All proceeds from the month-long fundraiser will help fund cancer research and life-saving services like free rides to chemotherapy, free places to stay near treatment, and a live 24/7 cancer information helpline.

Cumberland Farms is part of the EG Group, which also includes convenience stores such as Certified Oil, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf ‘n Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, Tom Thumb and Turkey Hill.

“We’re proud to help support the doctors, scientists, and service providers at the American Cancer Society who provide life-changing research and help patients manage through this terrible disease,” EG America President George Fournier said in a company statement. “We encourage our guests to donate to this worthwhile cause. No donation is too small.”
