Wading River firm supplies wood for Sag Harbor bridge

Evergreen Forest Products was the lumber supplier for the $1.9 million restoration of the Old Ponquogue Bridge in Sag Harbor.

The Wading River-based company, an importer and supplier of eco-friendly hardwood for dock piles, decking, roof shingles and custom furniture, sourced the Ipe lumber and decking for the project that was headed by Chesterfield Associates, a marine construction and engineering firm from Westhampton Beach.

The project included restoration of bulkheads and boating ramps, as well as a new sustainable deck and handrails. The extensive restoration was required after the bridge was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
