Little Mermaid to make a splash at The Gateway

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” dives into The Gateway Playhouse in Bellport this month.

The musical, based on a Hans Christian Andersen story and the popular animated movie, will open on Friday, July 15 through Sunday, August 7.

The cast includes a bevy of Broadway-experienced talent, including Emily Grace Tucker as Ariel; Patrick Ortiz as Prince Eric; Moeisha McGill as Usurla; Jeremy Gaston as Sebastian; David Engel as King Triton; and many more.

The Gateway production of “The Little Mermaid” is directed by Larry Raben and choreographed by Debbie Roshe, with musical direction by Charlie Reuter.

The music by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, features the catchy “Under the Sea,” “Part of Your World,” and the tropically inspired “Kiss the Girl.”

The Gateway Playhouse is located at 215 South Country Road in Bellport.
