New skate park opens in Brentwood

Skateboarders will now be able to ollie, grind and kick flip their way around a brand new skate park in Brentwood.

Dubbed the Roberto Clemente Skateboard Park, the $1.25 million facility features rails, ramps, steps and quarter-pipes.

The Brentwood skate park was designed by Nelson + Pope and SITE Design Group, the California firm responsible for legendary Tony Hawk’s own backyard skateboard area.

The skate park is the newest addition to the revamped Roberto Clemente Park which had closed in 2014 and reopened three years later. Recent improvements to the park include the renovation of its Olympic size swimming pool; sunshades, picnic tables and chairs; a spray park and playground; new sidewalks and a newly paved parking lot.

The Roberto Clemente Skateboard Park is located at 400 Broadway in Brentwood.
