Farmingdale names street after community leader and pub owner

The Village of Farmingdale has named a street after one of its former business and community leaders.

The street sign Tim Collins Way, on the corner of Main Street and South Front Street, was unveiled in front of a big crowd of elected officials and village residents on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Collins, who died in Feb. 2008, was the proprietor of The Inn on Main and was a former owner of Mer’s Pub, a wrestling coach at Farmingdale Schools, supporter of innumerable athletic teams, organizations and fundraisers for the Farmingdale community.

A proclamation was given to Collins’ wife Teri declaring Oct. 11, 2025 as Tim Collins Day in the Village of Farmingdale.

“For everyone who showed up to commemorate Tim’s legacy, know that you have touched our hearts and have etched an indelible imprint of love. Daler strong,” Teri said.
