John’s Crazy Socks, the mission-driven sock company co-founded by John Cronin and his father, Mark X. Cronin, will hold “John Day,” on Tuesday, August 11. 

John Day, the sock retailer’s version of Amazon Prime Day, marks the half-birthday of John Cronin, the company’s CEO and chief happiness officer, who happens to have Down syndrome. It is a day of celebration and giving back to the community

“Amazon has Prime Day. We have John Day and ours is more fun,” said John Cronin. “It’s my half-birthday, and I want to celebrate with everybody. We’re going to have deals, autographs, candy, and a dance party!”

For one day only, every order placed online at johnscrazysocks.com or in the company’s Huntington Village retail store will receive free shipping and 11% off. Every online order will also include an autographed photo of John and a word search puzzle he created, plus extra candy tucked into the package.

Customers who visit the store in person can have John personally autograph their photo, enjoy special in-store surprises, and join John as he hosts his signature live dance party.

The celebration reflects the company’s founding mission: to spread happiness and to show what people with differing abilities can do. Since its founding in 2016, John’s Crazy Socks has built a community around that purpose and gives 5% of its net profits to the Special Olympics.
