Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society announces 2026 season
Following a milestone 40th anniversary year, the Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society (HLPS) is launching its 2026 season with an expanded schedule of public tours and continued investment in critical restoration projects at the historic Huntington Harbor Lighthouse.
The society rolled out its newly-designed website with online booking to accommodate the expected volume of visitors to the lighthouse, where guests can choose from recently-expanded tour offerings. Last season the lighthouse saw nearly 600 visitors.
“We saw tremendous enthusiasm from the public last season, with nearly every tour fully booked,” said Pam Setchell, president of HLPS. “It was incredibly rewarding to share the lighthouse’s history and its ongoing role as an active navigational aid with so many visitors. That momentum is driving an even stronger 2026 season.”
The public tours run from 11 a.m. through the final departure at 3 p.m., and will once again depart from Gold Star Battalion Beach in Huntington on select Sundays throughout the summer. Guests will take a guided boat trip to the lighthouse and get the opportunity to explore the interior and climb the tower. Each tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and is weather and wind permitting.
The lighthouse is available to host private tours and events. For additional information or to reserve a tour, visit: www.huntingtonlighthouse.org
