AFE seeks golfers, sponsors for annual scholarship golf outing

The Long Island and Metro New York City chapters of the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE) are inviting golfers, sponsors and industry supporters to participate in their annual scholarship golf outing on Wednesday, Sep. 2, at Timber Point Golf Course in Great River.

The outing raises funds to help provide scholarships for students pursuing engineering, facilities management and related careers, while also supporting local charitable organizations including The Salvation Army and Angela’s House.

“Finding qualified facility engineers and facility managers is one of the greatest challenges facing our industry,” said Robert B. Bender, president of AFE’s Long Island Chapter. “This outing helps us build the pipeline by supporting students who may become tomorrow’s chief engineers, facilities directors and operations managers.”

This year’s honoree is John Chiodi, CEO, president and partner of Empire City Consultants, a consulting firm serving clients in New York City, Long Island and New Jersey.

“Supporting this event is an investment in both our industry and the professionals who will help shape its future,” said Chiodi. “I am honored to be recognized by AFE, and I hope our friends and colleagues will join us.”

Golf packages include foursomes, twosomes, and individual golfer registrations. Sponsorships range from tee signs and display flags to special-event and prime sponsor packages. Prime sponsorships include promotional visibility through event signage, journal advertising, digital mentions and other recognition. Availability is limited for certain sponsorships. 

Registration begins at 7 a.m. and is followed by an 8 a.m. shotgun start, with cocktails and a full buffet at 1:30 p.m.
