Optimum honors Hispanic Heritage Month once again with student essay contest 

Optimum recently announced the start of its annual Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed each year from September 15 to October 15.

The contest, available to all middle school and high school students, recognizes and celebrates the diverse histories, cultures, and contributions of generations of Hispanic Americans across the country. 

A total of four grand prize scholarships of $3,000 will be awarded as well as honorable mention prizes.

“For nearly two decades, Optimum’s Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest has given students a platform to reflect on the people, traditions, and experiences that connect them to Hispanic culture,” said Sean O’Connell, SVP and general manager at Optimum. “As the program enters its 19th year, we’re proud to continue celebrating student voices while recognizing the rich histories, cultures, and contributions that make Hispanic heritage so meaningful in the communities we serve.” 

Participants must be a student in grades 6 through 12 and attend a school in the Optimum service area. All essay submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 15.
