‘Walk in the Park’ raises $115K for individuals with developmental disabilities

Smithtown-based Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) raised $115,000 at their annual ‘Walk in the Park’ at the Suffolk Credit Union Arena at Suffolk County Community College’s Brentwood Campus on Saturday, Nov 22.

The arena hosted hundreds of families, staff, clients and supporters who came together to raise vital funds for the institute.

“This event is a beautiful reminder of the power of our community – a community of the people we support, families, employees and friends of the organization.” said Kim Kubasek, CEO of DDI. “The generosity of our supporters directly strengthens DDI’s mission, allowing us to continue providing life-changing services to the children and adults in our programs.”

In addition to the indoor walk, the event also featured carnival games, music, a magician and a photobooth.

The funds raised will go directly towards enhancing DDI’s educational, residential, vocational and therapeutic services.
