Specialty supermarket 99 Ranch coming to Long Island

Long Island will soon have a new supermarket to shop at when 99 Ranch opens its first area location in Westbury.

99 Ranch, a Taiwanese-American supermarket chain that has 53 stores in eight states, has leased a 45,602-square-foot space at the Samanea New York mall at 1500 Old Country Road.

The company’s Westbury store, which it hopes to have open by the end of the year, will be its first in New York. It will offer online shopping, in-store pick-up and same-day delivery service.

99 Ranch, founded in 1984 by Taiwanese immigrant Roger Chen, is also looking for additional locations on Long Island.

“This long-term lease agreement continues the building block process of reinventing Samanea New York into an attractive and compelling family destination that is geographically central to so many communities here in the heart of Nassau County, ” Samanea New York Marketing Director David Ackerman said in a written statement.

Samanea New York is located on the site of the former Source Mall.
