Walmart opens hiring center for new Yaphank store

Walmart is opening a hiring center to fill more than 400 hourly and management positions at its new store in Yaphank.

The hiring center, located at 1490 William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The new store, which is scheduled to open in November, is located in The Meadows at Yaphank development, at the northwest corner of the Long Island Expressway and William Floyd Parkway.

The starting hourly rate for day positions is $16 an hour, $19.50 an hour for overnight hourly associates, and $19 to $24 an hour for team leaders.

All eligible associates – both full- and part-time – have affordable healthcare and insurance options that include no lifetime maximum and eligible preventive care covered at 100%. Medical plans start at $30.50 per pay period, as well as dental and vision plans. Coverage for domestic partners is available.
