Jets and Corvettes returning for Farmingdale fundraiser

An assortment of classic Corvettes will be exhibited alongside jet fighters at the American Airpower Museum’s annual Vettes & Jets Car Show next month.

Organized by the Long Island Corvette Owners Association, the event, a fundraiser for the American Airpower Museum, takes place Saturday, Oct. 12 at Hanger 3 at 1230 New Highway in Farmingdale.

Besides the Corvettes and their owners, museum officials will be on hand to explain the unique capabilities of various jet aircraft and give guided tours in the hangar.

There is a $25 per-car entry fee for owners wishing to display their cars and they should meet up no later than 9 a.m. in the Stew Leonard’s parking lot.

The event is free for museum members with valid membership cards. For others, it’s $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $10 for kids 5 to 12. Admission is free for kids under 5, active military, veterans and the disabled.
