The Movie Lot drive-in movie series at the Smith Haven Mall is gearing up for Halloween with a line-up of frightfully appropriate films and a special trick-or-treat alley.

The Library Café, along with the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, are planning a 20th anniversary celebration at noon on Friday, October 16.

The Huntington Historical Society is teaming up with the Whaling Museum in Cold Spring Harbor to hold two outdoor antique sales later this month.

The event, being held at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration through Nov. 1, features thousands of jack o’lanterns that will create Long Island-themed sculptures like the Montauk Lighthouse and many other creations.

The Riptide Training Academy’s six-session program at Sportime Bethpage will feature current Riptide players and staff giving instruction tailored to youngsters’ ages and skill levels.

The renovations were funded as part of the $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant the village was awarded by the state in 2016.

The interactive, drive-thru experience, which features more than 70 animated life-like prehistoric creatures, will be presented from Oct. 2 to Oct. 11 in the parking lot at Point Lookout Beach.

There are 15 polling locations in Nassau County and 12 polling places in Suffolk County where you can cast your ballot beginning Saturday, Oct.24 through Sunday, Nov. 1.

Brought to you by the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, the canoe/kayak tour will be led by Chenae Bullock, a member of the Shinnecock Nation.

The center on Crooked Hill Road is a 25-bed community residence for women that combines a safe and supportive living environment with unique services for women affected by addiction.

The INN, which operates the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen in Hempstead among others, estimates it will have served more than 200,000 balanced meals and more than 5,500 pantry bags by the end of this year as a result of the pandemic.

The fundraising event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 13. Participants who raise at least $100 will be mailed a Team Hope t-shirt after the event.

The American Airpower Museum is using the event on Saturday, Sept. 5 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The money, provided to the Town of Huntington’s bus service through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration, will be used for operating, administrative and preventive maintenance expenses to support HART’s fixed-route and paratransit services.

Four students from Manhasset High School won awards in an international clean technology competition.

The money, which was part of the town’s $133 million in funding from the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Stimulus (CARES) Act, will help the schools purchase the required personal protective equipment needed for reopening to students and faculty.

The eatery was supposed to open months ago, but the opening was postponed after construction delays and the state’s coronavirus shutdown pushed it back. The new restaurant has outdoor seating for 30 people and 57 seats inside.
